‘Most expensive dog’ snapped up for £4.4million by celebrity breeder

A dog said to be the most expensive in the world has been bought for an eyewatering £4.4 million.

Celebrity Indian dog breeder S Sathis, 51, splurged on the pooch called Cadabomb Okami, which is a cross between a wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd, The Sun reported.

Caucasian Shepherds are large livestock guard dogs native to the Caucasus region that were first bred in the Soviet Union.

Okami – considered to be the rarest dog in the world – was born in the US and sold last month to Sathis – a renowned dog breeder in India who owns over 150 different breeds.

Speaking of his latest purchase, Sathis said: ‘He is an extremely rare breed of dog and looks exactly like a wolf. This breed has not been sold in the world before.

‘The dog was bred in the US and is extraordinary. I spent 500 million rupees on buying this pup because I am fond of dogs and like to own unique dogs and introduce them to India.’

Okami has become the talk of the town in Karnataka, southwest India, where Sathis has been parading the dog around several high-profile events, with eager audiences paying large sums to see rare breeds of dogs.

Sathis earns between £2200 and £9000 just by showing up to exclusive events with his unique dogs.

‘I spent money on these dogs because they are rare. Besides, I get enough money because people are always curious to see them’, Sathis said.

‘They take selfies and pictures. My dog and I get more attention than an actor at a movie screening, we both are crowd-pullers.’

The dog-breeder also owns a rare Chow-Chow which he reportedly snapped up last year for a whopping £2.5 million.

Due to the nature of his rare dogs, Sathis has had to install tight security to protect his pets.

This includes a 10ft-tall wall around his kennels and constant CCTV.

According to local news outlet DNA India, Sathis began breeding dogs in 1990 and started his own company which breeds and imports dogs, and also hosts dog shows.

His company claims it has bred more than 100 champion dogs.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
