Fire claims two dogs, displaces five adults in Myrtle Grove

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A fire in Myrtle Grove on Tuesday morning resulted in the deaths of two dogs and displaced five adults, according to the local fire chief.

The blaze broke out around 5:47 a.m. on the 6800 block of McNeil Street. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate one of the dogs, but their efforts were unsuccessful.

The Escambia County Fire Rescue confirmed that all human occupants were safe.

Upon arrival, ECFR units encountered heavy flames and smoke emanating from the front-right portion of the single-story home. They rapidly attacked the fire, eventually bringing the situation under control at 6:30 a.m.

The American Red Cross provided assistance to those displaced by the fire.

Despite the efforts to save the animals, two dogs perished, while one dog managed to safely evacuate.

The home suffered significant damage and is considered a total loss.

An investigation by ECFR determined that the fire was caused by a candle that fell on the floor.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
