Family’s 3 dogs die in Edina house fire; home a total loss

A northeast Missouri family lost its home and three dogs in an afternoon fire.

The blaze at 205 West Marion Street in Edina was reported just before 12:30 p.m. Monday.

The two-story home is owned by Amber and Chaz Boatman. They were not home when the fire started.

Edina Fire Chief Tom Morgret said they were both at work.

Firefighters said large flames were rolling out of the back of the home when crews arrived.

Officials believe the fire was probably electrical in nature.

Morgret said the homeowners had laundry going in the utility room, and that is where the fire originated.

An investigator from the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office was being called in to verify the cause.

Two firefighters were given oxygen at the scene after they overexerted themselves.

The home is a total loss.

Multiple personnel from the Baring Volunteer Fire Department helped battle the blaze.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
