Meet Zelda and Hilda!
We’re hoping to adopt out together this sweet bonded pair of senior dogs. They are Zelda (A557432) and Hilda (A557433), both approximately 10 years old, both in pretty rough shape, and they are inseparable. They snuggle on their bed together. They never fight over meals or treats. And more than anything, they love being outside in the sun, together. Both are incredibly sweet and affectionate, and seem to like being around other dogs. They shouldn’t have to spend another day here at the shelter. All these two want to do is grow old with one another, getting the occasional nap in the sun, a soft treat, a softer bed, and all the hugs and kisses and pets they can steal.
This month, Orange County Animal Services is channeling ghouls and ghosts to celebrate Howl-O-Ween with a brand-new adoption promotion. Adoption fees will be reduced to $31 through the end of the month, to help find homes for pets after an influx of pet intakes.
“We have nearly 300 amazing pets under our roof at the moment, a lot of great adoption candidates that are ready to go home to celebrate Halloween with new families,” says Diane Summers, division manager for Orange County Animal Services. The shelter is in the process of getting ready for some big events at the end of the month, but shelter leaders say any day is a good time to adopt or sign up to foster.
