Wrongful death lawsuit filed after Lawrence County man mauled by dogs

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed over the death of a Lawrence County man who was mauled by dogs earlier this year.

The family of Willard Norton filed the lawsuit at the end of October.

The lawsuit claims that the dogs’ owners, Jonathan Nix and Melissa Todd, knew their dogs were a danger to others, yet allowed them to roam freely, resulting in 83-year-old Norton being mauled to death in his own yard.

Nix and Todd have not been criminally charged for his death.

Since the mauling, the Lawrence County Commission has adopted a leash law requiring pets to be confined to their owners’ yards.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
