Her diet gave them paws!
An adorable puppy chowed down on a jaw-dropping 24 socks and other pieces of clothing — including an entire onesie — prompting life-saving surgery in California, the veterinary center said.
Luna, a 7-month-old Bernese Mountain dog, was feeling ruff on Feb. 16 after swallowing a good chunk of her owner’s closet along with a shoe insert, a scrunchie and two hair ties, Corona Animal Emergency Center said in an Instagram post.
When she began puking, owners rushed the pooch to the animal hospital, where a vet cleared her stomach and removed clothing causing an intestinal obstruction.
“When her family noticed she was vomiting and had a firm, distended abdomen, they rushed her to us,” the center wrote.
“Against all odds, Luna pulled through and is now wagging her tail again!”
“[She] has a *serious* sock obsession,” it added.
The vet center posted a wild photo of the socks removed from the pup’s gut along with X-ray images of her clogged intestines, according to Storyful, which was first to spot the lucky dog’s survival tale.
Other shots show Luna — sporting a “cone of shame” — happily lounging on a sofa post-surgery.
Pet owners who “notice vomiting, lethargy, or a firm abdomen” should “act fast and contact your vet” the center warned.
“She’s one special pup, and we’re honored to have been part of her story,” the post says.
