One woman went viral when she took to TikTok to reveal her ‘shacking’ tips – or the items that are must-haves when she thinks she could have an impromptu slumber party after a date.
Content creator Maddie Smiley shared a ‘shacking pro tip’ with her followers, and in return, they told her all of their favorites to bring in their bags.
‘This is my pro tip for if you don’t know if you’re coming home or not,’ Maddie explained, before going through the goods.
First up was an electric toothbrush head with an antibacterial case over it so she can throw it in her purse.
Another go-to is a contact case, so it’s easy to take off her contact lenses.
However, some things are better left to chance – or at home.
The TikTok creator promised, ‘Trust that your friend has face wash.’
Maddie thinks it’s best to also ‘trust that your friend has clothes for you to change into’ – however, not everyone in the comments agreed.
Many women said they would never trust a man to provide the correct face wash, making makeup remover wipes a necessity.
Some said they managed to bring a mini makeup bag with them, to guarantee they had all the necessities.
‘I wouldn’t trust that EVERY friend has face wash but PSA coconut oil is a great makeup remover,’ a commenter explained.
‘If you’re shacking with a man, 95 percent of them do not have face wash or a clean washcloth,’ another agreed.
One woman suggested ‘adding Aquaphor or Vaseline mini because you can use to take off makeup and as a moisturizer in a pinch.’
Some people even make Aquaphor, which can be used to moisturize and as Chapstick, in bedazzled, portable jars.
‘Neutrogena has like single serve make up wipes for on the go!’ one woman recommended, which proved to be a popular choice.
The skincare brand Ursa Major also makes a more sustainable option that cleans and exfoliates at the same time.
Unfortunately, some makeup artists say wipes don’t remove makeup properly and can even damage your skin over time – so while it’s okay to use them occasionally, it shouldn’t become a regular occurrence.
Other women said she brought disposable portable toothbrushes for the occasion instead of electrical toothbrush heads.
Some women in the comments said they carry their birth control pills in the bag in case of emergencies.
One woman commented, ‘I toss my birth control pill in there for the morning too. No baggie just loose in a pocket.’
A few were simply caught up on the term ‘shacking,’ which was previously a popular way to refer to post-date sleepovers.
‘I haven’t heard the term shacking in FOREVER and this took me back to 2006,’ one woman joked.
