PELZER, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – An Upstate woman is searching for her missing dog after a suspect in a law enforcement chase later crashed through her fence.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed deputies were chasing a suspect off Highway 8 in the Powdersville area on Thursday night.
Deputies lost track of the suspect but soon after were notified that the driver crashed.
Jennifer Williams said the car drove through the privacy fence around her yard on Seigler Road, crashing into her carport and into animal cages she uses for wildlife rehabilitation.
Deputies said the suspect tried to run away from the crash scene but was caught. He was taken to the hospital for injuries and will be served with warrants for failure to stop for blue lights and possession when he is released.
Williams’ dog Fury, frightened by the crash and sirens, ran away and has not been found.
Anyone who sees Fury is asked to message Williams on Facebook or text 864-233-0339. She said he is a rescue who is extremely skittish.
