Two women’s attempt to pull a tick from their dog has sparked a viral moment that had internet viewers in stitches.
Kayla Biondi (@kaylabiondi) shared a hilarious video of her and her partner working together to remove the tick, their dramatic reaction filled with squeals and gasps. Their efforts, which managed to capture both horror and comedy, have garnered 271,900 likes and 3.1 million views on TikTok.
“First time pulling a tick off the dog went really well I’d say,” Biondi joked in the video’s text overlay. In her caption, she added: “Yes I am also traumatized.” Newsweek reached out to @kaylabiondi for comment via Instagram. We could not verify the details of the case.
In the clip, Biondi’s partner holds their dog’s shoulders firmly while Biondi cautiously pulls out the tick with a pair of tweezers. The moment the tick is successfully removed, both women erupt into screams, and as Biondi drops the pest onto her glove, the dog joins in by barking and bouncing around the room.
Ticks are small, spiderlike creatures that attach to animals, feeding on blood for days. They are commonly found on vegetation and can easily latch onto pets passing by, increasing the risk of transmitting diseases.
Removing ticks from pets safely requires fine-point tweezers, grasping the bug close to the skin and pulling in a slow, steady motion. Proper removal reduces the chance of infection and ensures the tick’s head doesn’t remain embedded.
TikTok users quickly filled the comments, sharing their own tick-removal dramas and laughing along with Biondi’s chaotic experience.
“The dog said, ‘chaos, I LOVE CHAOS!!'” wrote Amanda.
Another user posted: “Core memory of terror.”
One commenter recalled a particularly horrifying experience: “I pulled a tick off my boy once and it took a little piece of his skin and the end of it had a tiny baby and when I put it in a bag (to have my vet test it) IT HAD BABIES I wanted to simply pass away.”
Al posted: “The important thing is everybody stayed calm.”
“My dog once had a tick on her leg and I thought it was a mole so I was like feeling it because I thought it was new and I ended up making the tick dizzy from rubbing it and it fell off onto my bed,” said another, adding to the collective memory of tick-induced chaos.
