When a woman named Tera saw a Facebook post about a dog who kept coming to the same business looking for help, she decided to be the one to answer his call.
“I came to help,” Tera said in a video posted to TikTok. “The employees have been feeding him, and I’m going to grab him.”
The pup was curled up under a giant sign that said Pepe’s Towing Service, just waiting for someone to notice him. Even though he was incredibly skinny and weak, the pup immediately stood up and came over to Tera. He’d been waiting for someone like her to come and save him, and he was ready. She slipped a leash around his neck with ease, and he eagerly followed her to the car.
As soon as he was safe, Tera offered her new rescue some chicken and rice, and he inhaled every bite. Unfortunately, he wasn’t microchipped, and no one had any idea how long he’d been living on his own.
After taking him to the vet, it was discovered that the pup had been eating rocks and wires to survive, and may end up needing surgery if he’s unable to pass them on his own. Thankfully his bloodwork all came back normal, but he still has a long way to go before he’ll be considered healthy again.
Despite his struggles, the pup could not be sweeter if he tried. Even though life has not been kind to him at all, the only thing he seems to want is love and kindness, and luckily, he now has people willing to give it to him.
“He started wagging once I got him in my crate inside my van,” Tera wrote on TikTok. “He knows that he is now safe.”
The pup, whom Tera has been calling Dojo, has since had his first bath and is looking so much cleaner and happier than when he was first found. He still has a ways to go on his healing journey, but he’s safe and loved, and that’s what matters.
Dojo is currently being fostered through Love Leo Rescue and will be available for adoption once he’s healthy.
