In a viral TikTok video, a woman revealed what she saw her neighbor’s dog doing through a window, and the internet can’t stop laughing about it.
The clip, shared in February under the username @my_neighbours_dog_, shows the dog looking right at the poster from behind the glass, as he comfortably lies on stair lift to get upstairs instead of using his paws instead.
A quick look through the poster’s other videos suggests this is a regular pastime for the pooch, with the account (clue’s in the username) being dedicated entirely to the dog’s unusual mode of travel.
“My neighbors dog sailing away,” @my_neighbours_dog_ writes in the clip. The caption says: “It’s his world and we live in it.”
But no matter their size or breed, all dogs need exercise to live a happy and healthy life.
According to Small Door Veterinary, 30 to 60 minutes of physical activity, including walks or indoor play time, should generally suffice for most dogs.
However, just like people, some dogs can be lazy, and if that’s the case with your pup, it may take a little more encouragement on your side to get them to actually move off the couch and get their steps in for the day.
A Napo Pet article reviewed by Dr Louisa Lane, says that to make exercise more enticing for your animal, you can add some enrichment to it — and make it fun for them. You can play fetch; tug of war; hide and seek; or set up an obstacle course.
Or you may choose to play scent games, sniffing out treats or toys; hide their dinner for them to hunt it; or give them puzzles to solve. Consistent training will also help getting your dog into a stable exercise routine.
Indoors, you can also use a dog treadmill, says Small Door Veterinary, which is a great way to keep them fit during the colder months. Or you can play “monkey in the middle,” tossing a toy back and forth with the help of another person.
