Woman Killed in Dog Attack in Rural Tuscaloosa County Thursday

A woman was fatally mauled by a pack of dogs in rural Tuscaloosa County Thursday, law enforcement confirmed to the Thread.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said deputies with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence on Boyd Road in the unincorporated Echola area on reports of an animal attack.

They found a woman critically injured from wounds inflicted by several dogs on site – Kennedy said police believe the woman came to the home to feed the animals while their owner is out of the area.

Deputies, NorthStar ambulance staff, Echola Firefighters, and Animal Control officers responded to the scene and tried to save the woman, but she did not survive the attack.

The VCU investigates almost all deaths outside of a hospital setting in Tuscaloosa County and their involvement does not indicate suspicion of criminal activity.

Kennedy said police do not currently suspect foul play was involved, and the identity of the victim will not be shared publicly.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
