Woman hit by car while walking dog in McCandless

MCCANDLESS — A woman has died after she was hit by a car while walking her dog in McCandless on Tuesday afternoon.

Allegheny County 911 dispatchers told Channel 11 that police, fire and EMS units were sent to Highland Road and Harmony Drive at 5:45 p.m.

Sources tell Channel 11 that a woman was crossing the intersection while walking her dog when she was hit by a car. She and the dog died.

The driver stayed on scene.
