A woman thought her orange cat was about to join her dogs in peacefully sunbathing by the window—but the feline had other plans.
Kayleigh Maven (@kayleighmaven) captured the moment on video when her Maine Coon cat Butter strolls over to his two dog siblings, Bacon and Maple, who lay calmly in the sunlight.
Instead of settling into the cozy scene, Butter suddenly launched himself onto Bacon, the Husky. The two play-fought until Bacon gently batted Butter away, seemingly unfazed. Meanwhile, the second dog, Maple, a golden retriever, remained utterly indifferent to the chaos.
“I thought he was going to aesthetically lay in the sun,” Maven wrote in the text overlay. She added in the caption: “Orange cats collectively have two brain cells.”
The video struck a chord with viewers, racking up 797,700 likes and 3.6 million views on TikTok.
Orange cats, particularly tabbies like Butter, are known for their quirky and often clownish personalities. Orange cats tend to be affectionate, social, and vocal, according to Rover. Their bold and goofy behavior has made them internet icons.
Dogs Trust say that cats and dogs can live together peacefully, especially when introduced properly and given time to adjust.
Some cats and dogs even become inseparable companions. However, the occasional scuffle—or pounce—between pets is often just part of their play routine, especially if both are young or have playful temperaments.
TikTokers flooded the comments with their takes on the dramatic moment.

And one user summed it up simply: “The sun charged him enough to attack.”
