Police responded to an east Toledo residence where a person had also been shot.
TOLEDO, Ohio — A woman was charged with a felony after she was allegedly in possession of a firearm and admitted to shooting a dog in east Toledo Saturday.
According to a police report, officers responded to the intersection of Starr Avenue and St. Louis Street around 3 p.m. after receiving a call for a person shot. Once they arrived on scene, police located a 66-year-old suffering from what they described as a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police also found a deceased dog on scene, who officers said had also been shot.
Police arrested a woman, 41-year-old Felicia Alfred, and charged her with having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony. According to an affidavit, the woman told police she shot the dog. However, the circumstances leading up to the shooting were not provided in either the affidavit or police report.
Police did not say if the woman was also accused of shooting the person who was injured. She is, as of 1 p.m. Monday, not facing any charges related to this incident beyond possessing a firearm when she was not legally allowed to.
