Woman charged in Auburn animal cruelty case

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) – An 18-year-old woman has been charged in an Auburn animal cruelty case.

Authorities reported that Taylor Michelle Colbert turned herself in on Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued for aggravated cruelty to animals.

According to Auburn police, officers responded to a complaint near the 1100 block of Opelika Road on January 5. Upon arrival, they were informed of a deceased household animal, prompting an investigation by police and Auburn Animal Control.

During the investigation, police said evidence suggested that the animal’s death occurred under conditions that violated Alabama’s laws on aggravated cruelty to animals.

Court documents state that Colbert “intentionally or knowingly” left a dog caged for multiple days without access to food or water, leading to its death.

Colbert was taken to the Lee County Jail and held on a $5,000 bond.

The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
