HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was charged with felony animal cruelty after deputies seized 15 dogs found in deplorable conditions.

On March 5, deputies were called to reports of three Saint Bernard dogs running around the Horse Shoe area. Once they found the dogs, the owner, Stacy Rose, was contacted to come retrieve the animals.

Deputies said due to the condition of the canines, they went to her home for futher investigation.

Once they arrived, she led deputies to a shed where the three dogs had been kept in deplorable conditions, with feces covering the floor, deputies said.

Rose surrendered the three Saint Bernards before deputies searched inside her home and found more dogs being kept in similar conditions as the shed, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies issued a search warrant and found 10 canines in the house and five in the backyard.

Rose was arrested on 15 counts of felony animal cruelty, misdemeanor failure to bury deceased canine and misdemeanor resisting public officer.
