
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – A 26-year-old woman was arrested on Monday, February 17, after police responded to a tip about animal cruelty at a home in the 5300 block of Pearl Stone Avenue.
According to the Laredo Police Department, at around 10:17 a.m., officers arrived and found two Doberman dogs that were very thin, without food, water, or shelter and needed medical care. A dead puppy was also found in the yard.
Officers called the Laredo Animal Control Department for help, and they took the two dogs into custody.
The woman living at the home, Shalma Guerrero, was arrested and charged with Animal Cruelty (Non-livestock, C/A). Guerrero was later released on a $2,000 bond.
