Watching over someone’s pet can sometimes be challenging as you learn the routines, behaviors and habits, and one dog sitter quickly discovered the job wasn’t what she thought it would be.
TikTok user @jacquefromtheblock agreed to dog sit her neighbor’s senior canine, Prada. Senior dogs typically don’t have as much energy as the younger pups do, however, the pet sitter still expected she would be taking Prada out for walks. But Prada had a plan while staying at the sitter’s home: relax, unwind and be a velcro dog.
The dog sitter quickly learned Prada wanted nothing more than to be constantly at her side. Instead of the pet sitter watching Prada, this 14-year-old dog turned into the one in charge. Prada kept her eyes locked on her sitter at all times.
The dog sitter gave viewers a glimpse into what it looked like while having Prada over her house in her January 4 TikTok video. She sat on the couch, minding her own business when she panned the camera around to reveal Prada. The black and white scruffy canine sat as close as possible, staring the sitter down. There was no moving without Prada following her every move.
“If she wasn’t sleeping, cuddling, or on a walk she would just stare at me while I did whatever activity,” she told Newsweek via TikTok.

While the dog’s behavior might be unusual to some, the dog sitter assured people in a follow-up video that she and Prada are very familiar with each other. She dog sat for her neighbors before and knew Prada had never been a fan of going on walks or playing. She always makes Prada walk, but she also welcomes the endless attention from the dog.
The dog sitter shared a heartbreaking update on Prada. The owners told her they have to put down Prada this weekend due to a mass they found on her. Stunned by the news, she’s cherishing her time spent with Prada and the dog’s love to always be by her side.
