Woman, 2 dogs dead in late-night Ely house fire

ELY, Minn. (Northern News Now) – A woman and two dogs are dead after a house fire in Ely late Tuesday night.

According to Friends of the Northland Firewire, crews responded to the fire after 11 p.m. at the 200 block of North 5th Avenue East.

Crews arrived to smoke and flames coming out of the two-story home.

The woman in the home was taken to the hospital where we was pronounced dead, according to Friends of the Northland Firewire.

Ely, Babbitt and Morse-Fall Lake fire departments all responded.

The identity of the woman has not been released.
