Wintersville hosts Halloween-themed dog festival

A tail-wagging festival dedicated entirely to dogs will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Wintersville Dog Park at 200 Grove Street.

From 1-4 p.m., the event will offer fun for both dogs and their owners. Highlights include a ‘Trunk or Treat’ for dogs and a K-9 police dog demonstration showcasing the skills of local law enforcement canines.

Attendees can also meet various dog breeds through the Fort Steuben Kennel Association’s ‘Meet the Breeds.’

“It is an absolutely fun event,” said Gael Damron, president of the Wintersville Beautification Committee. “Like I said, we had one in August. We had a blast. This one, of course, is Halloween themed, so we want to get people out to the park so that they are going to be taking advantage and using the park. We want them to enjoy the fun and bring them into the community. We want them to see what we can offer.”

Pet registration begins at 1 p.m., followed by demonstrations at 2.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
