Tory Burch has steadily been growing the Romy family of handbags: a crew of sleek totes, slouchy hobos and lady-like bucket bags crafted from soft, pebbled leather and designed to carry it all. The collection has quickly gained traction with Hollywood’s leading ladies—most recently, The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood was spotted out in New York City, carrying the cream-colored Hobo, a compact style that’s equal parts structured and soft, and the newest addition to the family. But the tote bag remains a popular silhouette for work and play.
Since its debut last fall, everyone from Michelle Williams and Jodie Turner Smith to Emma Roberts and Suki Waterhouse have been spotted wearing the Romy tote, quickly cementing it as the new It bag among celebrities. At first glance, it’s not hard to see why—available in two sizes, the tote features a spacious main compartment that can be adjusted by the slim, wraparound leather belt and quickly secured by the magnetic closure. While the large size features wide, elongated handles that comfortably slide over a shoulder or sit demurely in the crook of the arm, the smaller size features a removable strap that can quickly convert the style to a crossbody en route.
It’s a bag that’s designed for women on-the-go—whether she is commuting into the office or enjoying time off with some much needed R&R. It doesn’t matter if you’re carrying a trove of tech, running errands, or need a carry-on that can be used both on and off the plane— the Romy’s your best girlfriend. (And we spotted a chic, croc-embossed version on the runway coming this fall too).
Below, two Bazaar editors share what they love about the Romy tote and how they’re wearing it this spring.

Romy looks good, but she’s got more to offer than a buttery leather exterior. The tote is classic in that it can play with various moods while polishing up outfits. I have the large size in black leather and for the last month, I have styled it with everything, from my favorite Gap x Palace track jacket and jeans to a belted trench and boat shoes, and carried it everywhere—to work, catching up with family over lunch, and a four day trip out of state.
It’s a 24/7 bag that truly holds a lot—honestly, more than I initially expected— from my laptop, toiletries, books, and magazines to an extra purse (sometimes you just need to carry the essentials like a wallet and keys and having the option to make a quick swap is a game changer).

As a long-time fan of Tory Burch and someone who is perpetually looking for the next It work bag, the Romy tote immediately caught my eye. Its design is equal parts stylish and practical, with a deep, zippered interior pocket for small essentials, an easy magnetic closure, and straps that don’t dig into my shoulders.
I have the suede style and found it surprisingly easy to style with several outfits; although this material is not ideal for all weather conditions— like unexpected rain.
And while the height of the bag prevented me from being able to fully clasp the bag closed when I carried my 13-inch laptop around, the main compartment was roomy enough to carry everything from my travel makeup pouch, laptop, and other odds and ends with ease. I even took it to my first-ever Solid-Core workout and can attest to the fact that it fits comfortably inside a standard gym locker.
All in all, the Romy tote makes it simple to elevate any look.
