There’s nothing like coming home. And homecomings can be even sweeter when you’re greeted by a furry friend.
Such was the case for astronaut Sunita Williams, who returned home last month after spending nine months in space.
She posted heartwarming footage of her reunion with her two dogs at her home in Houston Texas.

“Do you recognize me? Do you know who I am?” she asks as she cuddles her overjoyed dogs outside of her home.
The dogs’ tails are wagging as they excitedly stand around her for pets. One grabs a stick to bring her.
“Best homecoming ever!” she posted.

NASA astronauts return to Earth
The backstory:
Williams spent an unexpected nine months in space with fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore after their Starliner capsule experienced some problems.
They went into space in June 2024 for a planned eight-day mission, but did not return until March 18, 2025.
Dig deeper:
They were the first astronauts to ride Boeing’s new Starliner capsule last summer, but when their spacecraft experienced helium leaks and thruster issues, NASA decided it was safer for them to wait on the space station for a new ride home.
What they’re saying:
The two Starliner astronauts spoke to FOX News this week, indicating they did not feel stuck, stranded or abandoned – even though many people were referring to them as such.
They both said they’d be willing to fly again if NASA asked.
