According to Travis and Jason Kelce, there is “no such thing as dumb questions” — except for this one about dogs.

“What breed of dog would make the best quarterback?” Jason, 36, asked during the fan-submitted Q&A segment of their “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday, October 23. “It’s gotta be smart.”

While the siblings normally subscribe to the belief that there are “just dumbass people” — and that any question is fair game — this particular inquiry was different.

“That’s actually a dumbass question,” Travis said, eliciting a laugh from Jason. “Obviously, you gotta be smart. You gotta be able to get along with other dogs.”

Jason said that was an “interesting” take on Travis’ part.

“You gotta have a little bit of a friendliness to you,” Travis continued. “It depends on what kind of quarterback you want.”

Right off the bat, Jason cited Border Collies because of their “intelligence,” which goes hand-in-hand with the traits of a quarterback.

“They herd sheep. They’re in-control animals,” the retired NFL star continued. “You saying they need to get along with other dogs is a great point that is making me rethink that.”

Jason continued: “When I think of dogs that get along with dogs or anything really, I think a Golden Retriever, right? They’re just like the happiest dogs on the planet, nine times out of 10. … German Shepherd is a powerful animal, efficient. Malamute, is that the one that is like the Secret Service dog? Don’t know, I think it is.”

Jason continued to brainstorm dog breeds, wondering if the hypothetical quarterback should be a taller animal to see over defenders well enough.

“That’s the thing. I don’t know a lot of breeds,” Travis chimed in. Jason continued, “I would say poodle, but I think they’re too fancy. They’re too high maintenance.”

Jason explained that “really good” quarterbacks “are more down to earth.”

Eventually, the twosome circled back to “height” being an “important” quality for their dog quarterback. “I want a tall quarterback,” Jason declared as Travis suggested that a Doberman should take the position.

“Smart, athletic, tall. … I don’t know if those things get along with everybody, but they’re always out front,” Travis continued. Jason agreed that this particular breed has “a good blend of athleticism” all around.

Huskies were also thrown out there because they “know how to work within a team” as sled dogs. In the end, the brothers agreed on Dobermans. Jason also insisted that his and wife Kylie Kelce’s Irish Wolfhounds could never excel on the football field.

“They are stupid as a box of rocks,” he said. “I love my dogs.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
