Puppy Bowl XXI returns Sunday with sidelines filled with new pups ready to take the field for some furry pre-game football action ahead of Super Bowl LIX.
These adorable and adoptable puppies should be a fun distraction until the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs take the field for Super Bowl 59.

Catch Puppy Bowl 2025 on Sling
Kickoff for Puppy Bowl XXI is at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. The pre-game show begins at 1 p.m. ET.
Puppy Bowl XXI will air on Animal Planet, Discovery, Discovery+, MAX, TBS and truTV on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025.
Last year, Puppy Bowl XX was filmed in Glen Falls, N.Y. after reclocating to Cool Insuring Arena.
The pre-game show is slated to begin at 1 p.m. ET Sunday, Feb. 9 followed by Puppy Bowl XXI, which has a duration of three hours listed from 2 to 5 p.m., according to Animal Planet.
Two teams will participate in Puppy Bowl XXI − Team Fluff and Team Ruff.

According to the release, 11 participating dogs have special needs, including Jolene, an American Pitbull terrier mix competing in a wheelchair; and Sprinkle, a blind and hearing-impaired Australian shepherd mix.
The 21st anniversary show will also feature the “Pupularity Playoffs” where fans can vote in a bracket-style playoff for the “Most Pupular” dog from the starting lineup, which will be announced on Feb. 9.

- Kiki: Chihuahua mix, Florida Little Dog Rescue in Saint Cloud, Fla.
- Paws Allen: Labrador Retriever mix, Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue in Buffalo.
- Smoosh: Pekingese, Florida Little Dog Rescue in Saint Cloud, Fla.
- Whoopie: Great Pyrenees mix, Wags & Walks in Nashville.

Lineup for all the Puppy Bowl XXI action on Sling
Team Ruff scratched its way to a 72-69 victory over Team Fluff in Puppy Bowl XX.
Moosh − an Australian Shepherd mix for Team Ruff − was named the Most Valuable Pup for Puppy Bowl XX.
With team scoring introduced in 2015, Team Ruff’s win last year gave the squad five “Lombarky” trophies to Team Fluff’s four.
All of the dogs can be adopted. Many are already adopted by the time the show airs, however, thanks to their cuteness level. Even the Puppy Bowl crew occasionally grabs a few.
“We’re transparent about that. Our goal is to find them their forever home,” one-time NFL referee and current 14-year Puppy Bowl judge Dan Schachner told USA Today last year.
