With more than 180 breeds ready to show off, the National Dog Show commences Thursday, Nov. 28, following the Macy’s Day parade.
The beloved pet event, in its 23rd year, was held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center on Nov. 16, 2024. There were nearly 2,000 canines entered in the competition, all vying the coveted title of ‘Best in Show.’

What is the National Dog Show?
The National Dog Show is hosted by the American Kennel Club, which sanctions the top dogs from across the country. Dogs from 205 breeds and varieties will compete in breed, group, and Best in Show categories.
The dog show itself is run by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, which has hosted an annual competition since 1879.

Presented by Purina, the annual National Dog Show is a two-hour family entertainment special that’s the most viewed dog show in America. Viewers can tune in to NBC at noon on Thanksgiving Day, right after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
