Western Wisconsin Weekend: Birds, dogs and bike rides

Location: Trek starts and ends at The Garage Bike and Brews, 109 West Cedar Street, River Falls 

Cost: Registration from Sept. 1-14 is $60, day of ride registration is $65 

River Valley Trails is hosting their 25th annual Autumn Trek bike ride along scenic western Wisconsin. Choose from four different ride loops: 25-mile, 45-mile, 65-mile and 101-mile century challenge. 

Time: 7 a.m.-noon

Location: Carpenter Nature Center, 279 South Cove Road, Hudson 

Cost: Free 

Celebrate the fall migration with an early morning bird hike, keynote speakers and chatting with fellow bird lovers.

Location: Black Box Theater, The Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust Street, Hudson 

Cost: $32 for adults, $20 for youth 

The Phipps will be hosting a Speakeasy Serenade Night with a mix of 1920-1930s jazz melodies. Vocalist Trish Sisson and pianist Adi Yeshaya will perform classics along with sharing stories about the eras’ iconic singers.

Location: Cracked Barrel Winery, 570 Coulee Trail, Hudson 

Cost: Free admission 

Cracked Barrel Winery and Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue are joining forces to host a philanthropic afternoon. Support Coco’s work with rescuing and rehabilitating these furry friends. The afternoon will feature live music, giant games, specialty wine cocktails, local vendors and a 50/50 raffle. Attendees are welcome to bring their dogs. 

Time: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Date: Sunday, Sept. 15 

Location: Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 523 1st Street, Clayton 

Cost: $15 for ages 12 and up, $8 for ages 5-11 and free for ages 4 and under 

Holy Trinity Orthodox Church is back hosting their annual harvest festival. Attendees can choose to dine in or dine out along with taking part in the raffle, bake sale and games.

The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines.
