Due to the growing number of dogs, the Wayne County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center faces a need for medical and comfort supplies for its canine residents.
Beyond just a temporary refuge, the shelter plays a role in the community by promoting responsible pet ownership and advocating for spaying and neutering.
“PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare for the Wayne County Dog Shelter) has donated funding for all of the surgeries that need to be performed,” said Dog Warden and Shelter Director Katelyn Lehman. “However, we need supplies to help dogs during their recovery. Every contribution helps create a nurturing environment for dogs in need, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.”
Monetary donations can be made online at waynedogshelter.org and supplies can be purchased and shipped to the organization through an Amazon wish list. The list can be viewed at www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1D7CM0WYYHPTW.
