SUSSEX COUNTY, N.J. — Three burglars made off with $118,700 worth of designer bags, belts, and shoes in a robbery early Thursday at Lizsonnenbags, an e-commerce showroom, according to the store’s owner.
Liz Sonnenberg, the owner of the designer retail business, said the burglars gained access to the showroom by prying open a window at around 1:50 a.m. She became aware of the break-in when she received a notification from her Ring security system.
“So I grabbed my phone half asleep and clicked the notification,” Sonnenberg said, recalling the moment she realized the showroom had been breached, according to an interview with NJ.com.
Sonnenberg’s husband quickly contacted the police while she called her father, who lives nearby. Her father reportedly saw a car speeding away on Route 15 and attempted to follow it. The pursuit ended near Denville when the car began traveling at speeds of approximately 100 mph.
Local authorities are investigating the incident but have not released any information about suspects or the vehicle involved.
A daring heist leaves a New Jersey business owner reeling as police hunt for thieves who stole six figures worth of designer goods.
