Unbelievable because I was so overwhelmed with joy. After nearly two years, Velma Gonzalez and her dog Silver have reunited. Silver ran away on July 4, 2023. Gonzalez believes the fireworks scared off her dog. She’s been searching for her since then. Honestly, I had already given up hope. Then she received *** phone call from Petlink last week, the company she used to microchip silver. She, uh, left me *** message saying that *** good Samaritan had found silver. I thought for *** minute there I was like, Hi, this is just *** scam. I don’t believe it. But then I was like, but how would they know her name was Silver? The good Samaritan is Violetta Garcia. She found silver while out grabbing dinner in West Laco last week. Violetta and her sister Soreida rescue lost dogs in their free time. She’s very cautious approaching her, and that’s why she had to give her brisket to lure her into the into the car. When they brought her home, Soreida pulled out *** microchip detector that she bought to see if they could track her owners. Her chip was on the shoulders. They called the company Pat Link that was associated with the chip and found Silver’s mother. It just felt like she had never left, you know, she came in. And then went straight to my bedroom, jumped on my bed, and got comfortable. Out of the 24 animals the Garcia sisters have rescued, they say only silver was microchipped. The sisters have found owners for 6 non-chipped pets by posting on social media. They run *** group called Sisters Private Pet Parks and More. We are in *** lot of uh rescue pages, um, so if there’s an opportunity we have *** space or we have the time whatever we can go and get them. We’ve, we’ve done that multiple times. Uh, with, you know, very less fortunate dogs, Garcia says microchipping your pets makes the rescue process much easier. It’s something Gonzalez says she’s glad she did microchip your, your pets because that was the only way I got her back and uh so I would really encourage everyone to do that.
