Whiteland scored three runs in the top of the seventh Monday to rally for a 14-13 softball win at Columbus North.
The Bull Dogs (1-4) trailed 10-4 before scoring six times in the third to tie it and went ahead with two in the fourth. The Warriors scored a run in the fifth, and North answered with one in the sixth, but couldn’t hold the lead in the seventh.
Peyton Morris went 3 for 5 at the plate and struck out 10 in six innings of pitching relief. Lily Retz went 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, and Miley McClellan went 2 for 5 with a double, Morgan Jarvis went 2 for 5, Ali Wooten had a double and three RBIs and Summer Wllliams added two RBIs.
