AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – The Akron man accused of killing one of his dogs on Facebook live failed to show up in court, the prosecutor’s office confirmed, and a warrant is out for his arrest.
Marc W. Wolfe, Jr. was charged with cruelty to companion animals after allegedly killing one of his dogs on Facebook live in the spring of 2024,the indictment stated.
The crime was investigated by the Akron Police Department and Summit County Humane Society, according to the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office Director of Communications James Pollack.
His other animals and his guns were confiscated, Pollack said, and he was out on bond.
However, Wolfe “has been showing up to the Summit County Humane Society with a gun strapped to his hip/leg demanding they give his dog back,” Pollack stated.
Pollack said Wolfe had a court hearing scheduled for Sept. 12 to determine if he should be taken into custody for violating the terms of his bond.
Wolfe did shot show up for the hearing, Pollack confirmed.
The judge issued a warrant for Wolfe’s arrest and ordered him to turn himself in by Sept. 16, according to Pollack.
His trial date is slated for Oct. 7, but Pollack said that is in question since he is not in custody.
