(Gray News) – Walmart is enjoying big sales with a knockoff of an iconic fashion accessory.
The retail giant’s leather handbag, nicknamed the “Wirkin,” has been a huge hit among financially-conscious consumers and its popularity has made it go viral online.
The KAMUGO Genuine Leather Handbag has a striking resemblance to the Birkin bag from Hermes, a French luxury goods maker. However, there is a major difference between the products.
While the “Wirkin” can be found on Walmart’s website for about $78, a new “standard model” Birkin costs more than $7,000. One Los Angeles company has specialized Birkin bags priced as high as $400,000.
Walmart’s version of the bag has a high customer rating of 4.7 out of five stars.
As of Tuesday, Walmart’s Birkin bag dupe appears to have sold out online.
