MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — Middleborough town officials are asking for help in the case of 17 dogs removed from a town home on October 18.
The dogs, found with no food or water, were seized as part of an animal welfare investigation.
The Middleborough Animal Shelter received nine of the dogs taken from the Precinct Street residence, putting the shelter at capacity.
The remaining eight dogs are in the care of the MSPCA.
Two cats, a guinea pig and a turtle were also found inside of the residence.
The Middleborough Animal Shelter is seeking volunteers and donations of the following items:
- Dry Purina One dog food
- Any type of wet dog food
- Metal water buckets (6, 9, or 12-quart)
- Dog beds (any size, but larger and elevated ones are best)
The dogs are not yet up for adoption as they are still recovering from the poor conditions of the Precinct Street house.
