After an outbreak of an upper respiratory illness in dogs at the Charles County Animal Care Center late last month, it was announced on Dec. 2 that the shelter would have to temporarily close.
The virus is described as “contagious” in a release from Charles County’s government, but details remain slim at the moment, pending testing.
