A moment captured at an animal shelter’s vet clinic has gone viral, resulting in a happy ending for an elderly dog. Kristy McLarnan, a BI developer in Florida, recorded the scene when a man surrendered his 20-year-old, deaf, and partially blind dog. The video, shared on June 25, quickly amassed over 181,000 views, garnering widespread attention.
Despite the initial heartbreak, the video led to an outpouring of Support and a surge of interest from potential adopters. McLarnan’s post on her page @micaandbenji showcased the sweet pup and highlighted the importance of finding her a loving home.
The Halifax Humane Society expressed gratitude for the video, noting that it played a crucial role in securing an adopter for the dog. The spokesperson emphasized that while surrendering a pet can be misconstrued, in this case, it ensured the dog would receive the care she needs.
The positive response from viewers included numerous comments expressing relief that the dog wasn’t abandoned and joy that she would soon be with a new family. Thanks to McLarnan’s quick thinking and compassionate act, the elderly dog now has a second chance at a happy life!
