TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A Toledo woman said justice is on its way after she and her dog, Buddy, were shot.
Toledo police released bodycam footage just moments after the incident in East Toledo.
Felicia Alfred is accused of pulling the trigger. She was originally just charged with having weapons under disability, but that changed last week.
The dash and body cam videos show the large presence of first responders at the corner of Starr Avenue and St. Louis Street. In the video, Tammy Hall can be heard wailing as she’s lying there after her foot was shot.
Officers on scene quickly tried to figure out what happened.
“Did you see anything?” the officer asked a man on scene.
He responded, “I just got around here. The lady came around here and said they shot his sister and a dog.”
Hall’s 4-year-old American Bulldog Buddy can also be seen lying next to Hall. Buddy did not survive his injuries.
“I miss him so much, no one knows how much I miss him. He was my security dog. I mean, I don’t have nothing. He’s gone,” said Hall.
Police then attempted a search for Alfred while continuing to try and piece together what may have taken place.
“It sounds like what happened is these dogs got into it and they lit off a couple rounds, killed her dog and then shot her and then took off,” one officer said.
Last week Alfred was indicted on charges of felonious assault, cruelty to companion animals, having weapons while under disability and tampering with evidence.
“I’m so happy I’m jumping for joy, she needs to sit there for a little while,” Hall said.
Alfred appeared before a judge Wednesday and was given a $170,000.00 aggregated bond. She was remanded into the custody of the Lucas County Sheriff’s Department .
As justice plays out, Tammy said she’s happy with the way things are going.
“I just have mercy on her soul that’s all I can say,” said Hall.
Alfred is expected back in court later in June.
