(CNN) – The United States Postal Service is reminding dog owners to make sure the yard is safe for mail carriers.
On Sunday, the agency will kick off a campaign called “Secure Your Dog, Keep Deliveries On Track.”
The goal of the monthlong program is to decrease potential dangers while carriers are trying to drop letters in the mailbox or on the porch.
According to the USPS, there were more than 6,000 cases of employees being attacked by dogs last year.
Los Angeles is where the most incidents involving dogs were reported, followed by Houston and Chicago.
