UPDATE: According to a message from the shelter, all dogs who were originally scheduled to be euthanized are safe.
Harley and Grimm, the last two dogs, will no longer be euthanized, as some space opened up in the shelter.
“We had so many adoptions and rescue commitments that we only have 6 dogs left that are ready for adoption,” a representative from the shelter said in a Facebook message.
PREVIOUS STORY: A post from the Murray County Animal Shelter said that no dogs will be euthanized on Wednesday.
Nine dogs still need adoption or placement in another rescue, as the shelter is still at maximum capacity.

Sampson and Betsy were adopted. Peanut and Baxter were committed to a rescue. Hunter was also removed from the list.
Randy and AmyJo, both two-year-old black lab mixes, are now also seeking homes.
PREVIOUS STORY: There are 12 dogs in Murray County that are scheduled for euthanization at 4:00pm on Wednesday, August 14.
A post from the Murray County Animal Shelter’s Facebook page said the dogs must be adopted or placed in another rescue by this deadline.
The shelter will sponsor the first five adoptions.
They will also waive the fees on all the dogs that are already neutered.

- Peanut, Male, Terrier Mix, Unneutered
- Betsy, Female, Breed Terrier Mix, Unspayed
- Harley, Female, Border Collie Mix, Unspayed
- Hunter, Male, Border Collie Mix, Unneutered
- Q-bert, Male, Bull Terrier, Unneutered
If you are unable to adopt any of the pets, the shelter recommends becoming a foster, sponsoring a dog’s adoption fees, and spaying and neutering your pets.
