POSSIBLE WET WEATHER ON THE WAY IN JUST A FEW MINUTES. AN UPSTATE WOMAN IS CONTINUING TO RECOVER IN THE HOSPITAL TONIGHT AFTER SHE WAS MAULED BY SEVERAL DOGS. OFFICIALS SAY THE DOGS THEN TRIED TO ATTACK DEPUTIES. OUR NATE STANLEY SPOKE WITH THE WOMAN’S FAMILY. HE JOINS US LIVE FROM GREENVILLE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WITH MORE ON HER RECOVERY. NATE. THAT WOMAN NAMED TAMMY MERCURE IS STILL HERE AT THE GREENVILLE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. HER FAMILY DESCRIBED THOSE INJURIES AS SEVERE, AND THEY SAY IT’S A MIRACLE THAT SHE’S ALIVE TODAY. SHE FOUGHT FOR HER LIFE WITH THOSE DOGS FOR 30 TO 45 MINUTES, UNTIL SHE COULD GET A ROCK AND HIT THE DOGS AND RUN INSIDE. THOSE WERE THE TERRIFYING MOMENTS. IN THE UPSTATE MOTHER FOUGHT FOR HER LIFE ON SATURDAY. ACCORDING TO HER FAMILY, 34 YEAR OLD TAMMY MERCURE ARRIVED AT A FRIEND’S HOUSE IN ANDERSON COUNTY WHEN SHE WAS ATTACKED BY HER FRIEND’S DOGS. SHE HELD THE DOOR SHUT WITH A ROPE AND ENDED UP PASSING OUT, AND WHEN SHE CAME TO, SHE WAS COVERED IN BLOOD, LAYING IN HER OWN BLOOD. THE OFFICERS AT FIRST SHOWED UP. THEY THEY WERE SURPRISED SHE WAS ALIVE AS WELL. WHEN DEPUTIES ARRIVED, THEY SAY THREE DOGS WERE RUNNING ON THE PROPERTY. THEY COME CHARGING AT OUR DEPUTIES, YOU KNOW, SNARLING, BARKING. THESE DOGS WERE GOING TO HARM THESE DEPUTIES. SO UNFORTUNATELY THEY DID HAVE TO EUTHANIZE ONE OF THEM. LAW ENFORCEMENT SAYS THIS CASE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. THE DOG WAS UNPROVOKED. THE DOGS WERE UNPROVOKED. SHE DIDN’T DO ANYTHING TO PROVOKE THOSE DOGS. SHE LITERALLY JUST LET HER FRIEND KNOW THAT SHE WAS THERE. AND I CAME OUT THE DOOR AND ATTACKED HER. DAYS LATER, TAMMY’S SISTER SAYS SHE IS SLOWLY GETTING BACK TO NORMAL. SHE’S NOT ABLE TO WALK BECAUSE IT’S ALSO ON THE SOLES OF HER FEET, SO SHE CAN’T GET OUT OF THE BED TO WALK. SHE CAN’T, EVEN LET ALONE SHOWER. AND THE FAMILY ALSO SET UP A GOFUNDME FUNDRAISER FOR THE FAMILY, AS THEY WERE ALSO DISPLACED BY HURRICANE HELENE.

An upstate mother was visiting a home when dogs chased her and mauled her.
An Upstate mother is still recovering after she was attacked by a pair of dogs over the weekend.According to her family, Tammy Mercure, a 36-year-old mother from Anderson, was visiting a friend in Anderson County over the weekend when she was attacked. Her sister, Victoria Foster, says the dogs were owned by that friend, who was living on the property.”She fought for her life with those dogs for 30 to 45 minutes until she could get a rock and hit the dogs and run inside,” Foster says, “She held the door shut with a rope and ended up passing out, and when she came to, she was covered in blood, laying in her own blood.”Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at the home, where they were confronted by several dogs roaming the property. “They come charging at our deputies snarling, barking,” spokesperson Shale Remien says, “These dogs were going to harm our deputies, so unfortunately they did have to euthanize one of them.”The sheriff’s office says this case is still under investigation and confirmed the dogs were owned by a man who lived at that property. “The dogs were unprovoked; she didn’t do anything to provoke those dogs. She literally just let her friend know that she was there and they came out the door and attacked her,” Foster says.Now, Foster says Tammy is slowly working to a sense of normal. “She’s not able to walk because it’s also on the soles of her feet so she can’t get out of bed to walk,” Foster explains.A GoFundMe fundraiser was started by the family to help with expenses, stemming from Hurricane Helene. “Hurricane Helene actually took everything away from them when it hit. So FEMA put them in a motel, and they ended up kicking them out of the motel yesterday,” she says. That can be found here.
