UPDATE: All ‘SOS’ dogs adopted before being euthanized

UPDATE: The last three ‘SOS’ dogs, Hank, Scout, and Trooper, were all adopted, the McMinn Regional Humane Society said.

PREVIOUS STORY: Three dogs are still available for free adoption at the McMinn Regional Humane Society. Those interested have until Saturday, November 2 to submit applications for pups Hank, Scout, and Trooper.

Adoption applications are required to be submitted online for those interested in adopting or rescuing any of the pooches.

Meet and greets between dogs are required if there are already animals in the home before dogs can go to their fur-ever families.

MRHS staff will be on site Saturday, November 2 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at 320 S. Jackson Street, Athens, TN 37303.

Each pup has their own TikTok and Instagram posts available for those interested in adoption.

Additionally, MRHS has posted profiles of each dog on their Facebook page

PREVIOUS STORY: Hank, Scout, Trent, and Trooper all need to find homes before 3:00pm on Saturday, November 2, the McMinn Regional Humane Society says.

The adoption fees for these five dogs has been waived.

You can apply to adopt them on the society’s website.

5-year-old Hank is good with kids, cats, and is house-trained. He does not love other male dogs, but gets along with others.

Scout, a 1-year-old female is a ‘cutie patootie,’ looking for a cat and livestock free home. She appears to be house-trained, but prefer a home with older children.

Trent, 3, is a laid back dude looking for a cat-free home as well. He loves going outside and hanging out with volunteers.

Lastly, Trooper is around 2 years old, and is trained to ‘sit’ and ‘shake.’ He is a higher energy boy who does not like cats.

The shelter requires meet and greets if the adopter has any other dogs in the home.

Staff and volunteers will be on-site each weekday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and Saturday 10:00am to 3:00pm.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
