
BROCKTON – Whether your pup loves to run free, socialize with fellow dogs, or simply enjoy the fresh air, local dog parks have something for everyone. With separate areas for small and large dogs, fenced-in play zones, agility structures and plenty of shaded spots, they provide a safe, fun, and relaxing environment for all.
Whether you’re looking to meet fellow dog lovers or simply give your furry friend a chance to roam, dog parks are the perfect destination for fun and relaxation. Each park has its own set of rules and safety measures so be sure to check out those requirements before bringing your pup to the park.
Here is a list of dog parks within 30 minutes of Brockton.
1. Abington Dog Park in Abington
Abington Dog Park is located on 441 Summer St. next to the Senior Center. It’s a spacious fenced-in park that has a separate area for big and small dogs, a water spigot available from mid April to mid November and benches. The park is open daily, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The dog park is available in the winter, but the town does not plow the snow in the park. The park has many rules to keep everyone safe including: dogs must be leashed before entering fenced areas, choke collars are not allowed inside the park, two dogs per adult and no smoking or food is allowed, including dog treats.
2. Randolph Dog Park in the Goldstein Open Space
The town of Randolph owns this spacious park, close to dog-friendly hiking trails and lots of bird sightings, according to birdingspots.org. The dog park is located off West Street in the Goldstein Open Space with an entrance to the parking area just across from Fowler Street. Located on 201 West St., this dog park features an agility course, obstacles, seating options, waste receptacles, a spigot for water and more. This park also has a separate area for small and big dogs.
BringFido, a pet travel website, gave the Randolph Dog Park 4.7 bones out of 5 bones. One of the top reviews by Sarah said, “Dutch loved it! and gave the park 5 bones. “First time at the Randolph Park. Was going to go for only half an hour.., 1.5 hours later I was dragging my dog out of the park. Nice tree cover, lots of space, good people and his favorite little dog pool.”
3. Boneyard Dog Park in Kingston
While only a 30 minute drive from Brockton, before heading to the Boneyard Dog Park in Kingston, make sure you check in with Kingston Town Hall to pick up a Kingston Dog Badge, to show others proof of a valid dog license and current rabies vaccination. This badge is required for residents and non-residents to use the park’s amenities. Owners are limited to three dogs. Children under 12 are not allowed in the dog park, and children ages 13-15 must have an adult present with them before entering the park. The park offers pet waste receptacles, benches, a lost and found, ramps, rails, balls, rings and tunnels. The park is open from dawn to dusk.
4. Quincy Dog Park
This park is half an hour away from Brockton. Located on 123 Quarry St., this park has separate areas for large, small and senior dogs, as well as seating and watering stations. According to the city’s website, the park is open every day from dawn to dusk.

The place can get crowded on weekends and weekdays after work. There are a lot of regulars for your dog to make friends with. It can get windy up there so bring a jacket just in case.”
5. Sharon Dog Park
More than twenty minutes away from Brockton, the Sharon Dog Park is located on 34 E. Foxboro St. and open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The park offers a gazebo, a space for all dog breeds to run around and play and a smaller area for puppies. The dog park is managed by members of the community who help clean the park and organize events to maintain funding.
6. South Field Dog Park in Weymouth
This Weymouth dog park is just 20 minutes away from Brockton, located at 25 Memorial Grove Ave., by the Union Point development. The South Field Dog Park in Weymouth offers lots of space for dogs to run around, obstacles to jump and climb, picnic tables to rest, toys to play with and a separate area for large and small dogs and pet waste receptacles.

7. Coming soon! Stoughton Dog Park
A new dog park has been constructed in Stoughton, but its grand opening has not yet been announced. The fenced-in area is located on Pine and Pleasant Streets, behind the Capen-Reynold’s House. An official opening for the park has yet to be held but from some chatter online, it seems some people in the area have already tried out the park.
