Lexington County man charged after three dogs found dead, two rescued
Two other dogs were rescued from the home and are how recovering at Pawmetto Lifeline.
Authorities report that Jachim left the animals in his home on Corley street without any food or water.
A board member at Pawmetto Lifeline, Alicia McAngus, happened to be working on a home on that street when she heard the dogs barking.
She noticed the home appeared vacant and asked neighbors if they knew anything. She also alerted local authorities of her concern.
McAngus never saw the dogs that were inside the home, but was eventually reunited with the two that were rescued at Pawmetto Lifeline where they are now recovering.
She shared with WACH FOX News her emotions of finally meeting the two dogs – Donald and Rosie.
“I was very happy! They are very cute and very sweet. It’s sad to see the condition they’re in – they’re very thin and malnourished, but I was happy that they survived and that they didn’t have to suffer any longer in that house,” said McAngus.
The dogs will spend the next several months recovering at Pawmetto Lifeline – gaining much needed weight and strength.
Once the dogs have a clean bill of health, they’ll be put up for adoption.
