Two dogs reportedly electrocuted on the sidewalk near Dupont Circle

Two dogs died after walking on the 1100 block of 19th Street, NW, and “instantly died by an unknown cause,” according to a Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) report.

The first incident occurred around 3:54 p.m. on Monday when a dog was reportedly electrocuted while walking on the sidewalk.

A second dog died under similar circumstances at approximately 7:33 p.m. the same day, according to MPD.

Authorities were alerted to the possibility that the sidewalk may be shocking dogs and notified Pepco to address the issue.

7News has reached out to Pepco to learn more, but have not heard back.
