Tallahassee firefighters responded to a residential fire Monday morning that killed two dogs and hospitalized a person.
Around 7:10 a.m., firefighters arrived and found “heavy fire” coming from a mobile home on Page Road off Woodville Highway, according to a Tallahassee Fire Department news release.
“Crews quickly pulled hose lines and began extinguishing the fire while protecting the surrounding area,” TFD said.
When firefighters searched the home, no one was found inside but “unfortunately, two dogs were found deceased inside the structure.”
One person was taken to a local hospital due to smoke inhalation, according to the news release. The cause of the fire in currently under investigation.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Leon County EMS, City of Tallahassee Utilities and the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department all helped TFD on scene.
