Two dogs attacked an Anderson County woman, and aggressive toward deputies, what to know

An Anderson County woman was viciously attacked by two dogs late Saturday evening. Two of those dogs aggressively charged toward the deputies.

When deputies entered the victim’s home, they found the woman covered in blood with deep lacerations across her face and body.

“The victim explained to responding deputies that two of the dogs attacked her unprovoked and belonged to someone living on the property,” according to Shale RemienAnderson County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer.

The incident occurred at a home on LaFrance Road, where the dogs were reportedly running loose on the property, she said.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered multiple dogs on the property, Remien said.

Two of those dogs aggressively charged toward the deputies, “which resulted in deputies euthanizing one of the dogs for safety reasons,” Remien said.

“The second dog was captured without further incident and is currently being held at a nearby animal hospital as part of standard procedure,” Remien said.

Deputies quickly assessed the situation and determined the woman needed immediate medical attention due to the severity of her injuries.

“The victim was found with deep scratch and bite marks all over her body, indicating the brutality of the attack,” according to the police report.

The victim was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital for urgent care.
