Two dogs, adult assisted after structure fire in Fort Pierce

Two dogs and a person were assisted after a structure fire broke out on Saturday in Fort Pierce.

The St. Lucie County Fire District (SLCFD) stated that on Saturday at 12:12 p.m., they were dispatched to a structure fire near 6400 Oleander Avenue near Citrus Hammock Preserve.

According to SLCFD, when crews arrived on the scene, they were met with flames and heavy smoke.

Officials reported no injuries from the fire, but the Red Cross was called to assist two dogs and one adult.

SLFCD stated that they are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
