CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Mama T is a French bulldog who is giving away kisses for a good cause.
“She came from a hoarding case,” said Erika Proctor, executive director of Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy. “Now she’s giving back to the community by giving kisses.”
Natural Pet Essentials in Charlottesville held a fundraiser where donors could get kisses from Mama T to help support Green Dogs Unleashed.
Proctor and her team came to Natural Pets Essentials to find homes for a couple of rabbits and dogs. All the donations from Mama T’s kisses will be donated to Green Dogs Unleashed.
Proctor says this is her life’s work.
“People that are involved in rescue have no choice,” Proctor said. “We’re driven to help these animals and we can’t stop. Our hearts are big and the animals have a whole lot of need.”
Kim Davis is the owner of Natural Pet Essentials, which store sells natural food and products to keep pets safe and healthy.
Davis adopted Mama T and has been taking care of her. She says she’s happy to see Mama T get all the love she’s been missing out on.
“I love animals, I always want to be able to foster,” Davis said. “T is a Green Dogs Unleashed alumnus, so we adopted her. We fostered her first, and adopted her shortly thereafter, she came from a hoarding case in Oklahoma that Green Dogs Unleashed helped with and we have been pleased to have her as part of the family.”
