A Tuscaloosa producer won an Emmy Award last month celebrating a short video he made and William Shatner narrated in collaboration with an animal-loving nonprofit.
Lance Holloway Productions, owned and operated by the city’s own Lance Holloway, won an Emmy for Branded Content. The highly coveted award recognizes his short film, “Succession,” which Holloway produced last year for Dogs Inc., an organization that trains, feeds and supports guide and service dogs at no cost to those who require them.
The film, narrated by the legendary William Shatner of the original Star Trek series, is an adaptation of another Holloway production called The Circle – a 2018 film that has earned more than 60 million views across online platforms.
“I am so honored to have won this award. I was very humbled when Dogs Inc. reached out to me with the idea to create this short film as an adaptation of a previous short film I produced about 6 years ago, The Circle,” Holloway said in a press release. “It is really a great honor to be recognized after many years of hard work and dedication.”
This isn’t Holloway’s first rodeo with Emmy Awards, either – the University of Alabama alumnus was part of a team that won three for the incredible outdoorsman’s show Discovering Alabama.
Holloway has also produced videos for Nick Sabans, NFL Flims, country musician Parker McCollum, Children’s Hospital, and others.
