Trio accused of killing 6 dogs at Michigan rental property, leaving bodies in basement

EASTPOINTE, MI — A mother, son and another woman are accused of intentionally killing several dogs and leaving their decomposing bodies at a rental property in Eastpointe. The bodies of six dogs were discovered by the property manager and a cleaning crew after the trio were allegedly evicted from the property on Sept. 30.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Kentrell Dorr and his girlfriend India Jones, both 21, were arraigned Wednesday on one count each of third-degree killing/torturing animals and abandoning/cruelty to 4-10 animals, both felonies. The third-degree killing/torturing charge carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

Bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety with no 10% allowed. If released on bond, the two are ordered to have no drugs or alcohol, no contact with animals, and no contact with witnesses in the case.

Dorr’s mother, 49-year-old Corneshia Robinson is also charged with the same crimes, but will be arraigned at a later date.

“This is a horrifying case of animal torture, where these individuals showed a complete disregard for life by allegedly starving these dogs to death. The suffering they inflicted is beyond words. Under Michigan law, torturing and killing dogs carries a maximum penalty of up to four years in prison,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “While no sentence can undo the harm done, we will pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law to ensure these offenders are held accountable for their actions.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
